5 to 1 Safety Factor. Most bulk bags have a 5:1 rating. This means the bag was designed to hold 5 times the weight of the safe working load for testing purposes before failure. These bags are designed for single use. A 6:1 rated bag is designed for multi-use.
Bulk bags can be reused under certain conditions. It is recommended that only bags with a 6:1 Safety Factor be reused. Most bulk bags have a 5:1 Safety Factor, which we do not recommend being reused. Also bags could have a defect such as a small hole or unstable loops, which would make them unsuitable for reuse.
